2007 Super Bowl Champions will be Lovie’s Bears for another 4 years, at least
Although there was some previous talk of Bears’ coach, Lovie Smith, perhaps leaving Chicago after his contract expired following the 2007 season, Lovie did, in fact, extend his stay with the Bears until at least 2011. Apparently, it wasn’t easy and negotiations were negotiated but, a couple offers exchanged and a four-year, $22 million extension later and the 2007 Super Bowl Champions are now Lovie’s Bears for another 4 years, at least.
