Puff Puff, Do Not Pass Go! Go directly to Diversion Program
Just when the thought the off season was all about free agents, trades, salaries and bonuses, Johnathan Joseph, cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals, makes the headlines for his possession of marijuana. Whether glaucoma, excruciating pain, chronic illness, lack of appetite or just boredom, marijuana is still illegal so Johnson has a misdemeanor on his hands that will be dropped once he completes the drug diversion program.
The program, only open to first time offenders, is expected to thwart Johnson from ever experimenting with the wacky tabacky again and will also hopefully put an end to the nine consecutive Bengal players arrested in nine months. Kind of puts a whole new focus on the Bengal off season. Instead of perfecting plays and recruiting players, Cincinnati will be teaching right from wrong and trying to instill good judgement this off season, hoping to keep Cincinnati out of the jail cells and away from the criminal headlines.
